At Crowdfunder we have a way.

A way for people to champion their heroes.

Like Don Gardner from Cornwall’s CPR Foodbank, who we have featured in our new TV ad.

In the UK, 14 million people are living in poverty and struggling to afford to eat. The COVID-19 pandemic only worsened this statistic with many individuals across Britain needing to use a foodbank for the first time in their lives.

This increased demand put a massive strain on services, leaving many charities overwhelmed. This included Cornwall’s Transformation CPR Foodbank which supports Camborne, Pool and Redruth.

During 2020, demand for their services increased while they saw a reduction in donations. This, combined with staff shortages due to shielding, meant that Transformation CPR was facing an uncertain future.

After appearing in a documentary highlighting poverty and deprivation in the county, Don Gardner, the foodbank’s manager, touched the hearts of many across the world. His emotional interview, which took place the day before his wife’s funeral, saw the foodbank inundated with well wishes and support, with hundreds asking where they could donate.

Don has dedicated the last twenty years of his life to his community. To the people who use the foodbank, he is their hero. Needless to say, he’s one of ours, too.

Incredibly, the crowd came together to raise £69,000, and, thanks to your donations, families across Camborne, Pool and Redruth can continue to access vital support. This means that, in total, over £120 million has been raised during the pandemic to support those in need through our foodbanks campaign

“We have been totally blown away by all your support, thanks everyone who has given to the foodbank.”

Day in and day out we see so many heroes that touch the lives of people across the globe. We have a way to support incredible charities and initiatives, just like Transformation CPR Foodbank. Start your own crowdfunding journey today.
